this is the perfect bbq place if ((you've just finished watching minion 2 with ur bf &)) ur hungry ... i wouldn't say the meat is the BEST quality but it is pretty up there for what you're paying. i'd say 3.8 stars for the food ((my rice was kinda closer to cold than warm)) but the service is what really brings it up to 5 stars period. the staff here is really attentive & they cook the bbq for u ((unless ur a control freak like me & hide the tongs)) ... hehe if it's ur first time at kbbq- i'd for sure recommend the brisket, filet (don't let it cook all the way), LA galbi, and soy bean soup!!!

I enjoy Oo-Kook as a reliable, consistently good AYCE Korean BBQ spot. They also have a great Yelp Reservation system, and the Yelp Waitlist moves pretty quickly. The prices are pretty good too for their meat selection, though I wouldn't say that the meat itself is extraordinary compared to some of the other non-AYCE Kbbq places. I do appreciate that Oo-Kook has very good banchan (side dishes) and kimchi jjigae, since some AYCE Kbbq places don't pay much attention for the non-meat dishes. Plus, their service is very quick, which is always a plus. Street parking is definitely doable, but there is also #3 valet parking available. I always recommend Oo-Kook as a great place for AYCE Kbbq to all my friends because of the great all-around experience. Looking forward to my next visit!

The service here is excellent. The staff would come and grill, serve, and check on us so often even though the restaurant was packed. I haven't been to an ayce kbbq where staff performs extra services The waiting list was fast. This is a few kbbq restaurant that offers online waiting list and check in. It is so convenient and my group didn't have to wait long at all. The food is okay, like other restaurant. I didn't see anything extraordinary. The kobe beef was rather tasteless. Each portion was so huge. I recommend serving smaller size portions so we can get different meats. We sent back half of 3 raw plates because we just couldn't finish them.

Solid KBBQ. Wait is much faster than Yelp indicates -- we were 16th on list with 60 min estimated wait, but calling them indicated they use check-in order and had no wait. After checking in in person, there's a 10 min wait to set up. A waiter led us through the restaurant and we were delighted to find the inner space tables were completely empty! (the tables near the entrance were full) Interestingly, the tables near entrance had a circular grill while the inner ones had a rectangular grill. For the dishes itself, we could order four at a time. The dishes came fairly rapidly, and the cuts of meat are quite thick. I haven't eaten KBBQ for a while but many of the dishes were much thicker than expected, taking quite a while to cook. Waiting for it to cook was a bit frustrating at times, but our chatting made it more zen. Ambience: 8/10 - Great ambience and first impression. We got in at 8pm when the place was just more than half full, and it became quite crowded later, so timing was good. Service: 8/10 - Prompt grill changes, responsive service even though we were deepest in restaurant. Fast ordering and bringing the dishes. Inconsistent filling of water, filled two of our cups but not mine, but my cup was off to the side and I forgot to ask so not their fault. Quality: 7/10 - Dishes had good variety and consistent taste but was not astounding. The baby octopus was quite large and was difficult for us to stomach. I ordered it and it was much juicier than I expected. Value: 5/10 - I personally like the variety and thinness of my hot pot experiences better, which had a similar or lower price. Overall: 7/10 - Ordered three and a half rounds total and we had a bit of food coma at the end. Thick, slow cooking meat relative to other KBBQ/hotpot experiences, which made for a fun flipping zen experience.

Great tasting sides and meats, and the service does not disappoint. $3 valet if you can't find street parking. Check in outside. The cost is high $117 - tip extra, 3 meals (4 meats) with no booze seems high to me. This is not all you can eat.
